thnx re chassis ?'s, ? 4 rlrhky13 and chrisg21
Thanks to everyone for your thoughtful answers to my hi-lo and rocker chassis questions. I have a much better understanding now. chrisg21 and rlrhcky13, one other question to you as proponents of rocker chassis, would you still recommend them for use on a rough, sometimes cracked surface (ie a parking lot)? I'm thinking the stray pebble when you are on two wheels might be catastrophic! thanks again.

Personally I would reccomend them for any surface. I am by no means a professional caliber player. I play three league games a week indoors, and usaully another 2 pickup out doors. FOR ME, there is no other chassis I would use, I have tried going back to a static chassis, and could not believe how restrictive it felt. The stray pebble is not going to be any more of a factor on the rockers than it is to a Hi-Lo.
As we have certainly learned it really is a matter of personal preference, but if you are used to playing ice, I think the transition will be smoother. I think everyone also agrees that you are not really going to go wrong with which ever chassis you ultimately choose. This is not a matter of Hi-Los versus the old V-Forms, or even the Mission Vibes. The Rocker does work, it has it's advantages, and disadvantages, which I think have been pretty clearly discussed. I don't think you will go wrong with whichever you decide to go with.

I have never used mine outside but that is because I don't skate outside.. One of the guys who skates with me here has used his outside and it didn't make a difference. the chasis is pretty solid anyways and it would take a real small rock to get stuck in the moving parts of the chasis.. IN the video that comes from Smart hockey they are using the skates outside so I would think it wouldn't matter..
