ECRHA regionals
I've been following the ticker during the ECRHA playoffs and am wondering how things went. (Towson had some close games but came up a little short unfortunately.)
I was very suprised to see Altoona go out in 2 straight games. However, I wasn't suprised that RIT won the whole thing. They are a solid team and a scary one when the whole team is there.
One thing I know from what I have seen and how the post season went is that there is no less then 6 or 7 teams that could beat each other on any given day which is why so many ECRHA players call this the best region in the nation. This region may not boast the next National champion but it certaninly boasts the most even and exciting matchups in the Nation and that my friends, doesn't suck!
Congrats to RIT and best of luck to the ECRHA teams playing in the National Championship tournament!

Re: ECRHA regionals
Actually, Altoona didn't go out in 2 games, they lost their first game, but they beat us (JMU) in their 2nd game. So they played at least 3. The PSU v. JMU game was awesome, 4-2 with an empty netter with 30 seconds left. There were alot of close games all weekend, and it certainly made for an interesting weekend. It will be interesting to see how strong the ECRHA teams really are at NCT V in Feasterville. It was really a nicely run event, with Concrete Pond Hockey, and Bauer/Nike both hosting booths and showing off their new products.

Re: ECRHA regionals
Is anybody surprised by the ECRHA's D2 Championships? From what I could tell, it seemed to be a very exciting tournament. Biggest surprise...Westchester losing two straight. This is a team that nearly made it to NCT IV D2 finals. They lost to Ball State on a last second goal in the semi-finals. Great team, I'll miss seeing them playing in nationals this year. The East must be harvesting some powerful D2 this year. I guess we'll find out in April. See you there...
