    HOCKEY IN KUWAIT

I may be going to kuwait as a civilian contractor for the US gov't. soon and I was looking in the internet, Did anybody know that Kuwait has a national hockey team. Dave Bidini wrote a book called "The Tropic Of Hockey" I read it and its pretty good, Its about hockey in places that you wouldn't think it would normally be, ie. the desert, China, Mongolia, ect. If any body has heard of anything about hockey in Kuwait any info would be greatly appreciated

yeah i did hear about hockey being played outside at an oil refinery. theres rigs on both sides behind the net, so everytime you score, the oil goes shootin up 90 feet in the air....its pretty sweet, but from what ive been told, it gets a bit sloppy and not to mention a bit hot!

That's Kinda funny dummy, but this is a real question and it's one that I would not like to have answered like a joke, If I have to spend a year in that sand box I would really like to know if there will be at least a little sanity there. So, please, no more stupid answers

    Hi Sixpack,

Sorry I've been slow on the faceoff here... I don't know about Kuwait right now, but I do have a story about inline hockey in Tunisia that I'm working on. I know it's not right down the street, but at least it's in the "general neighborhood." I hope to get the story on site soon.

    Hi All

    Greetings from Llangyfelach, Wales (UK)

I also found the article facinating, to the point that I searched through the archive of the Marquette Monthly website to track down the earlier article.

OKay, so it's nothing to do with inline hockey, and it is 4k2 words, but it is, to my way of thinking, another superb and intreguing read, colleagues the link is attached:

    ENJOY!
