What's the deal with CCM?
I'd just like to know what's the deal with CCM? I've got a lot of people asking me about them.
Nobody seems to even mention that brand here in the forums except from a previous post I read that Bauers & CCMs suck at inline but the CCM externos look good or is it all hype?
How about the high price of the older CCMs a few years back?
Thanks!

Re: What's the deal with CCM?
I have heard excellent things about the CCM Externos, but I don't know many guys that have them. Their new pants are really nicely made, but are too baddy for my liking. If CCM had stuck with roller hockey, they would be a force right now, the major problem is after making the 355s and skates of that era, they basically fell off the face of the earth. It'd be nice to see a well established company like CCM gain some market share in the inline market.

I also have a pair of CCM pants. I agree that they are extremely baggy. But the material is really durable and I think the style of the pants is cool. only problem is that the CCM logos on it seemed like 'iron on' and have worn off. Overall good stuff though, its a shame they dont make more stuff for roller. I think the skates they make have the micro bearings as well, not a fan....

Re: What's the deal with CCM?
Yeah I have had the same problem with my logo. It washed off pretty much. I don't know anyone with CCm skates playing rooler at all right now and it is too bad cause it is a great skate..

Re: What's the deal with CCM?
the old 852's, 952's etc. etc. were a good boot and pretty comfortable too. They were a little warm for roller hockey as not as well vented as were purpose designed boots. As for the chassis, we always changed the chassis on them to either a Labeda or Redstar, so I can't speak for or against their earlier chassis or their later ones.

Re: What's the deal with CCM?
I still skate with a 652 boot and the Labeda extreme edge frame. This is the second ccm boot I have had on my Labeda frame. I love the ccm boot and won't give up my Labeda frame for anything. I totally disliked the hi-lo's.

Re: What's the deal with CCM?
I have always skated CCM for ice and for roller had tried bauer, easton and mission. About 6 months ago I took a new pair of 852 ice skates and substituted a rocker chasis (carbon fiber) and finally got the skate I wanted. Now, I go between ice and roller with ease. I occasionally use the missions when playing outside and each time reinforce my appreciattion for the CCMs.

Re: What's the deal with CCM?
I have been skating on some CCM 652's that were custom made for me as I have HUGE feet and all I have to say is CCM RULES!!! The break in time for the skates was a little long for me, but after that they are the best skates that I have ever had.
