Who stand to do well in CRHL Nats? Who will be a disappointment? I'm interested to ehar what you all think. (actually, in true VA fashion, it should be Ya'll)

WOW...aint that some funny stuff. The OCC "journal" gets locked, and everyone stops coming to write on this board. Have not seen anything all day long. So, time to get something else going. Maybe get some other people out here on this board.
This years NCT is going to be truely exciting. Such a shame that MSU, LU, and Purdue will not be there, but looks like there is finally going to be some new #1 seeds come Friday night.
Yes, this is some bias, but I am going to say that the Southeast teams are going to be SOME of the toughest teams there to beat. I think the team to beat in this years NCT is Central Florida. UCF is 29-3 going into the tourney, with loses only coming to South Florida, Florida, and Michigan State(MSU's goalie played unbelievable that game, he is awesome). Wins over RIT, Northeastern, Eastern Michigan and Cal Poly SLO at Narch prove to be high quality wins. So if I had to pick one team right now, its definitely UCF.
Final Four:
1) Central Florida
2) Florida
3) Cal Poly Pomona
4) Boston U (Sleeper)
Aight, now you may go ahead and criticize.
OCC's journal has over 1700 hits, looks like someone was interested in what they had to say. But getting back to your post, I'd say you're right, Central Florida has a very good chance, with all the Bauer Pythons on that team they should have a good chance of taking home the cup.
Here's my pick on the top 3:
1. Central Florida
2. Cal Poly Pomona
3. Altoona
I think RIT deserves to be up there more than Altoona.
That was kind of my point. No one is picking RIT. Why?
My picks for the favorites, in no order:
RIT
Central Florida
Penn State
Cal Poly SLO
maybe a Pomona or South Florida too
I'd have to put UCF on top from the show at Winternats...
I'd put RIT under PSU, just because in the last few ECRHA weekends, RIT seems to be floundering a bit, and PSU is steam rolling... Boston will be fun to watch make waves, but I don't seem them going past the elite 8... I see SLO in there late as well...
I cant wait to be able to watch this year

It should be interesting to see who comes to play, I also am anxious to see how RIT will do. They have been hot and cold alot lately. PSU Altoona has been on fire all season, and stands a chance to take a top spot at NCT V for sure. Whats the deal with teams in the south playing 32 games per season? That's unreal! After playoffs we'll only have played 21! I'm not sure I could have handled any more games without losing my mind. Especially with the jokers we have on our team.
ECRHA Championships should be very interesting. JMU has been very inconsistent this season, depending on how we play, we could be right in the mix, or out of playoffs in short order. With only 7 bids remaining, there should be some hotly contested games in Feasterville this weekend!
Gary
Gary,
The SCRHA plays a 20 game season, plus playoffs. So if you make the championship game, its a 26 game season. UCF also went out to Winternationals, also advancing to the championship game, so there is the 32 games.
There is no way I would do a 32 game season. As a MO director, I think I would have a heart attack half way through.
Personally, I think everyone is forgetting about the MCRHL and Midwest teams this year b/c of the Premier league... however I think Lindenwood's competitive team and Western Michigan will fare pretty well in the NCT. So if I had to pick a final four I would go: (It looks pretty even across regions this year...)
RIT
UCF
Lindenwood
Pomona
As a club president and ECRHA Director I think I'd shoot my teammates in the head before a 32 game season was over. Let alone the guys on the team we were playing against. I guess in ECRHA we'd play 25 if you count preseason, plus we were invited to winter nats, but we were unable to afford it. I had figured it was all regular season.

CRHL Nationals and the Feasterville rink. ECRHA had their championships there this weekend and the heat was pretty extreme, I heard there are vents that haven't been opened yet, which may alleviate this problem. It's kinda warm, and with 4x 12 minute periods, you're going to want to be sure to have some water bottles on the bench. The surface is one of the better rinks I have skated on, and they have a pretty decent pro shop at the rink. They have a good selestion of wheels, including Rink Rats.
Directions are kind of tricky. When driving to the rink, you drive down Bustleton Pike. At a traffic light Bustleton forks to the left, while some other road starts to the right. This is right in front of a Hotel called the Buck. If you don't miss this turn, you'll be fine, but if you do, the directions get awfully confusing.
Gary
periods are 4 x 8
As far as the rink directions, when you bear to the left (it's a light with a turning lane) The Buck (Club)in front of you also has a statue of a Buck. So when you see it, turn left.
Then you drive not even 1/2 mile, go over the RR Tracks, and make your first right into the industrial park. The rink is in the industrial park.
