    Mission D2s

Though I've heard many a great thing about the D1s, money's an issue. I've been looking at the D2s, and they seem alright for the price. Has anybody had a bad experience with them, or know of somebody that has?

Or should I just indulge that extra $100 for the D1s?

I have the d1's and love them, but if money is an issue, go to epuck.com and they list the upgrades of the D1 over the D2, that should help your descion. From what I saw the D2's look like a fine skate for its price.

    Re: Mission D2s

I just wanted to give you some product info:
The D-2's basically have the same internals as the D-1's. The biggest differences is in the external materials (carbon fiber lower quarters), Dynasty Wheel, and 7000 series extruded aluminum chassis,

The D-2 is a great boot, and many of the employees here at Mission skate it. If money is an issue, go with the D-2 (although $299.99 for a skate is not cheap). Great Boot, great performance, and I personally like the all black look.

Sounds good, thanks for that Justin. I think I'll be getting the D-2's. Although 299.99 is a lot, I have limited time to work, so it's a lot easier for me to hit that with a single paycheck, and still have some left over to pay off my credit card/phone bills

    Re: Mission D2s

    hey guys,
I know, probably a crazy question, but I just ordered a pair of the D2's. Can't wait to get them. Since I ordered them on-linem when I bring them in somewhere to have them baked, do I need to remove the wheels first?
    thanks

Yep, you have to, it would probably melt the wheels if you baked them. But I hope you enjoy your d2's :-)

No need to take the wheels off..

    Guys,

When you receive your skates, you will see a bright red sticker on the box that states that you do not need to remove your wheels before you bake. You can go ahead and leave them on.

We ran numerous test trying to wreck the wheel and bearings, but where unable to do it with a the skate bake oven.

I just checked my D1's box and saw that, hmm I would have never guess you could have done that safely. I guess I wont have to get out the allen wrenches next time I get a new pair of skates :-)

Wow, now that's something else. I figured I was going to be doing some pre-work before I baked them.

    Thanks for that, Justin.

    Thanks for the info guys...

If I don't get a chance to have them baked is it ok to wear them a few times then have them baked later? Or is this something you want to do before wearing them for the first time.

I wore my D1's a few times before baking and they have been fine.

Got my new D2's last night. They are unbelievably light and very comfortable. Having them baked should help the stiffness. When I do get them baked what is the proper course of action? Do you just sit down wearing them for x amount of time or should you walk around a little in them?

thanks for all the help guys

7 Minutes in the oven with the wheels on.
    Foot beds out
    Laces in

Put foot beds back in, lace skates up tight, remain seated for 7 minutes. Stand up straight for 1 minute, do not flex boot.
Sit down for 3-5 minutes or until boot has cooled down.

    That's it.
