Re: Sticks & Feathers
Not trying to imply that I am more skilled than anyone BUT when I flipped my synergy and put an end in it it was the weirdest stick i have ever played with. The Synergy before being broken was nice and whippy, now it is like a tree trunk(very little flex) and I can't stand it. I do like the tapered feeling of that butt end. I always taper the ends of my sticks, and this just saved my the time of adding a wooden end and sanding it down. That was the only benefit I got out of a broken synergy, well I sold the shaft of it for $35 but that's another story.

Re: Sticks & Feathers
I live on Columbus, OH and its like 2 degrees right now, they a ctually cancelled school because it was so cold! I do tend to break more sticks in the winter than the summer due to the cold. This winter I started bringing my sticks inside the night before instead of letting them freeze and I've only broken one so far! I just got in my Z-Bubble from the garage and it actually has ice on it!

Re: Sticks & Feathers
Schools are close down here too, its like 4 degrees. I went outside because we were going to brave the cold and play a little today outside. Some little kid brought to the rink a hockey ball to play with, he takes a shot and it slams against the board and kind of just shatters all over the place. It is was pretty neat to see that.

Re: Sticks & Feathers
Awesome! We've gonna play pond hockey later since all the ponds lakes and creeks are frozen!

Re: Sticks & Feathers
That would be fun I havent played on a pond since I was a little kid.

Re: Easton or Mission
Yeah I can see it now, easton coming out with the badboys of hockey blades "who cares about scoring when you can hit the opposing team with your blades." lol
-
Re: Easton or Mission
They already have that, it's called the "Forsberg" pattern.
-
Fair weather friends...
I'm bummed...we can't go play on the pond since it's about 67 degrees outside around here...darn it, anyway...

Re: Fair weather friends...

Re: Easton or Mission
I'm a huge fan of the Shanahan curve---also known by some people as the "Bananahan". It's hard to find blades in other brands with a toe curve like that. (3/4" Toe) I may be mistaken but I believe Mission copied their new one-piece patterns so the Cole is actually identical to the Shanny. Again, I could be mistaken. Easton will also be coming out with a few new patterns. I know Iginla is one for sure, but I am unsure of the curve.

Re: Fair weather friends...
Hey there is at least another month of winter left, so maybe you get your chance to play some pond hockey

Re: Easton or Mission
Yeah a friend of mine said the same thing about the Cole pattern. He says they are very close in terms of the curve.
