Ice Hockey Skates, Inline Chassis...

Anybody know if the Mission Generator Chassis fits Graf 702 Supras? If so, how much do ya think a normal shop would charge to swap the blade/blade holder out for the inline chassis...?

As for the chassis, which do you guys think would be better, the Generator or one of the new Labeda chassis?

I have swapped many chassis onto ice skates and it takes me about 2 - 3 hours - one of our local shops only used to charge $25.00 - but only if you purchased the chassis or the boot from them. There is really no other problem doing it other than the alignement of the new holes with the old holes- sometimes the new holes fall halfway into the existing holes but it's not a big deal. Usually most skates will accept up to three changes. As for the chassis - pick yer poison - I like something other than what you are looking at. But for tighter turning and quicker manouverability- buy the smallest chassis you can fit on the skate. For more inline speed - sometimes a longer chassis will give you an edge.

M son uses Nexed 2 deg. stingers and I dont know if Nexed will sell just the chassis. But these skates have given him more "bite" than any other hi/lo he has ever used - including Red Star, Labeda, Volcanix etc. He used Graf 704's for ice and we used to convert them to roller using a variety of different chassis. The trick for manoeverability is really the length of the wheelbase, and with the minute offset that the two degree gives you on two wheels, it seems to be very quick to respond to minor directional inputs(actually you are turning on the shortened wheelbase of the two "inset" wheels). But It also seems to have more grip for straight inline acceleration - hard to explain. I can only say that after he switched from his Graf/Labeda combination to the Stingers, he was faster based on lower lap times. Several other players we know in MLRH who have made the switch from rockered chassis to the 2 deg Nexed have found the same thing. As for the boot, well that's up to your taste in feel and foot shape. Bye the way we both tried the old 16 deg "V-Forms" in their day and the trial only lasted 10 minutes - these are NOT anything like those old monstrosities.

I am just mounting a pair of Nexed 2 degree Stingers on a pair of Graf 704's - will let you know how it goes - the chassis mounting base is a bit wider than the Graf sole so the holes come pretty close to the edges on the heel. Looks like fun but I've done it before. - If you can find someone to do it for you - I RECOMMEND IT.
