Tour .vs. Mission
So? What do you guys think? I've always been a big Mission fan, and never really had any major complaints. My one gripe is that the toe caps aren't exactly wide enough, and cramp the piss out of my feet sometimes, and aside form that, well we all know how much we like the VIBE chassis...... haha. Anyways, I was looking the other day at the Tour G90s, and I must say...... they are a DAMN nice skate. Now I've owned 5 or 6 pairs of Missions now, and I'm definitely contemplating jumpin ship over to Tour. Anybody have the G90s? Or have skated in them? The only reason I wouldn't buy them is if the Mission D-Limited lives up to all the hype..... but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it......

Re: Tour .vs. Mission
I've skated in the tour g90's recently and they are very nice, one of the most comfortable boots I skated in. But like yourself I am waiting to see the D Limited because it also sounds like a great skate. By the way how much did you see the D Limited's for, is it the standard $600 for the top of line mission's.

Re: Tour .vs. Mission
Yeah, everyone and their mom seems to love how comfortable the Tour skates are. The only negative I've heard is that if you have a problem with the skates that requires a shipment to Tour themselves, you're looking at 2-3 weeks without your skates, whereas Mission takes 3-5 days and the customer service is top-notch. As for the price on the D-limited, yeah they will most likely run around $600 the way it looks, but I'm willing to bet you can find them for $450 when they come out, to keep competitive with the Tour G90, which may possibly be just as good a skate, for less $$$........ we'll know soon enough.

Re: Tour .vs. Mission
I've been skating on the Tour 962s for two years now and they are still holding up great. I expect at least another year out of them. After that I'll get G90s or G80s. I am completely sold on Tour now. I had Missions previously. They just don't have the comfort level and durability of Tour.

Re: Tour .vs. Mission
I agree with Headhunter. I had a ton of problems with Missions' chassis and boots. I bought pair of 962s and loved them. My equipment got stolen, and I bought another pair. The second ones seemed a little harder to break-in, but now they're great.

Re: is it me or Tour
i think tours r good skates. they feel so good on my feet. but they feel flat.and i can never move fast on them. ive been skating on mission skates for about 4 years and i was just wondering is it me or r the skates totally different ?

Re: is it me or Tour
I kind of did notice that a little while skating in a pair of fishbones, but for some reason not with the G90's.

Re: is it me or Tour
really??? i notice that the g90's front and back wheel r out alittle far does that affect the way u skate. cuz my style of skate is centered chassis 1/2 inch front and back wheel showing , 2 center wheels touching , i dont know if u know what i'm talking about. but thats what i like. mission has that style

Re: is it me or Tour
i skated missions for the last few years until i bought some tours this past summer(i think the 90s??). ive only used them a few times so far and the wheel base did seem longer to me. another player on my team said the same. i do like the skate for the few times that i have worn it.
there's my BS opinion on the subject.

Re: is it me or Tour
did u feel better with the tours, same, or couldnt move that good on them.

Re: is it me or Tour
I can't really tell yet. I only used my tours on a real small rink, and they aren't broken in much at all.

Re: is it me or Tour
Have you had to deal with customer service of either? I had a minor request and question for Tour so I sent an email over a week ago to their customer service email address. No response. Kind of irritating, since it was not a big deal thing. All I needed was an answer to where I can get replacement bolts for my 962's. The kind with the triangular heads. Even an acknowledgement of my email would have been nice.

Re: is it me or Tour
You will find that chassis length relative to boot size varies from size to size. This is due to the fact that manufacturers make 2 - 3 sizes of chassis which are fitted to up to 13 or 14 sizes of skates if you include half sizes. So if you have a size 10.5 with a medium chassis - the toe/heel may overhang the wheel, but in a size 9 with the same chassis - the wheels may be outside the boot length looking vertically.
