    Michigan Pro Roller Hockey

Guys this Michigan Pro Roller Hockey league is going to be a real full blown league.

I saw the guys play tonite in a exhibition games and some of the teams are going to be good and some will only improve as the better players decide to give it a try.

The league director Jim Matte is doing a awesome job getting this thing off the floor. Saty posted to their website for more info.

You saw a game? How was it? I have spoken extensively with Jim Matte and he has done an incredible job so far. I hope things go well for him and his new league. By the way how was attendance for the game you saw? I am predicting that this league will draw Junior A numbers the first year as people get to know the league and realize that the league is legit. (Basically in the 3-500 fan a game mark at best and climbing.) It's good to see that one league is keeping it's word and playing some games!

I played in the exhibition game for a team called the Can/Am Stars vs. The Plague.

We played in a rink called Hat Trick Arena in Utica Michigan, full size sport court with border patrol boards and pro glass. The rink is great place to play great lighting and high ceilings.

The facility is growing very well. The game was a ton of fun.

The Teams were a little lopsided with my team the Can/Am Stars coming out on top 18-8(i think) WE played with 6 guys and 2 goalies--not by choice-- several conflicts with schedules shortened our bench. It was a good fast paced game with a few hits thrown. Mostly along the boards for show.

Please check the MPRH web site for more info in the coming days

    Hi Rolexguru,

I expect to post some information on the Michigan Pro Roller Hockey League by tomorrow. I've been watching and waiting, as I was recently burned badly by putting up stories about the "Great Lakes IHA Pro Elite League" that crashed and burned.

    Sincerely,

That other league strung everyone along all summer. This one is legit and things continue to look up for them all the time. This looks like the good minor league we needed 6 months ago. Better late then never I guess.

Sounds like somebody is finally trying to build a league the right way. Is there any way we can export this to Florida?

    Hi Richard,

We will keep you posted on the MPRH as things progress. It is a building year and is heading in the correct direction. There is a vast amount of talent in this league, with several MLRH players, a few former RHI guys, and a ton of NARCh finals experience.

We will keep you all posted as we grow

Just another group to come along and line their pockets with league revenues, franchise fees, ticket receipts, snack bar profits and in return they will leave a trail of unpaid bills, broken dreams, empty promises as they drive away in their new jaguars.

Really, how can anyone get excited??? Why should anyone be excited.

    Don't you remember.....RHI(1), RHI(II), RHI-A, MLRH, MLH....

Do they have a TV deal? Even Arena Football has a TV Deal. WWF Mexico has a TV deal. High School hockey in Minn has a TV deal. EVEN Pro Beach had a TV deal... neilsen rating of 0.6 (+/- 1.0)
    (insert new Jaguar here)

Sorry, It ain't happenin' for long.

This league will not make much at all and is hoping just to be able to pay the bills right now. This is small scale and is likely to stay that way for a while. There's nothing wrong with that, do what you can afford and hope for the best.

This league has kept it's promices and has actually played a few games unlike another league I won't mention. I say give this guy a chance and hopefully something good will happen with this thing!

    Realist...more to the point.

You mentioned, 'Hope for the best'... Hope won't pay the bills for long.
Don't confuse the message or assasinate the messanger. We ALL want something better and exciting for Roller Hockey. Every 'Pro' league that fails to make it is just another shovel of dirt on the preverbial casket.

If USA Hockey isn't the answer, and NARCh isn't the answer, then MLRH definately isnt the answer.

Why do you think the owners of Mission bought an ice hockey team instead of a Pro Roller Hockey Team?

    Just wonderin'
