What type of puck is used?
Hello ..I am coaching a team out of Lima ,Ohio. Most of the players are ice and Roller Hockey Rec. Leaque players. We are getting ready for some AAU tournaments and need to know what type puck is used? Also do you have any suggestions on wheel softness. Also if there are any teams in Ohio that would like to play us at home or your place please tell me. We need to get use the your style of play. We presently use a z-ball. Thanks Mike

Re: What type of puck is used?
Wow, someone from Lima, my old stomping grounds!
Actually, I'm from Alger (if you can believe a hockey player from Alger... heh). Up here in Columbus, most of us use the Star puck:

or the IDS puck:

Either are a decent puck. I don't think I've ever seen any other puck used in a tourney.
As far as wheel softness/hardness, it depends on what you guys are playing on... if you give us some specifics we'll be happy to help!

Re: What type of puck is used?
CRHL uses the Mach 1 puck, it's a little lighter than the IDS puck and some of the others but it seems to play very well. I used one for 4 yrs (back when I was a college boy) and got to really like them.
