NCT Suggestion
What would be a good idea for future years, I think, is to have the round robin mean more. You should have to, basically, win your way out of the round robin, without issues of "seeding" after the round robin.
For exmaple... in D-I this year, there were eight groups of four teams, right? If you take the top two teams from each division, by record, after the round robin, you have 16 teams. Simply put those 16 teams in a bracket, having a first-place team play a second-place team in each first-round game, then continue down.
Having a committee seed teams opens up a lot of room for people to bicker about objectivity, or a lack thereof. Setting up a cut-and-dry "you win and you go here" system would alleviate that. Also, that allows teams to know when they might be playing much sooner.
Just an idea,

Re: NCT Suggestion
If you get a bad draw, too bad. And I'm sick of people saying teams could've gotten farther BUT they played so and so. oh well, that just shows you who wants it and who can elevate their game when its time to play. You come to play and you come to win or you take the long ride home early.

Re: NCT Suggestion
Well, every four years, the World Cup seems to have the "Group of Death," as it's called, which is the group with the best teams in it.
But, in any pool play, you simply play the teams put in front of you. If you beat them, you should know that you're doing well, and not having to worry about how you're seeded by a committee.
You can do seeding coming into the pool play. Maybe have the regional champions (there are seven, right?) plus one other team should each get their own pool, so to speak. Then, use a random drawing for the rest of the pools, with a few restrictions (trying to keep teams from the regions away from each other in pools, etc).
