Re: Sponsors
Individuals are rarely sponsored. They might get occassional free or discounted stuff, but this hardly counts as a sponsorship.
Teams that are sponsored by major inline retailers, have built a very successful resume and have skated and placed well in major tournaments. Otherwise, local businesses often are your best source of sponsorship.

Re: Sponsors
A sponsorship from a top notch hockey manufacture like Nexed for example is almost impossible to obtain if your a small league team. In order to get a big sponsor you have to have a product to give to your sponsor. You have to play the big tournaments and be sucessful. You have to respect your sponsor and act professionally. If your a small team you want to shoot for small businesses like resturants, hockey shops, hockey rinks, small privately owned businesses. Once you obtain a sponsor, if you make that sponsor happy you will hopefully continue to gain other sponsors along the way.
