Feet are hurting, someone please assist

I just picked up a new pair of the old Reebok 5K's. Once I got them out on the court, my arches were killing me. I picked up a pair of Superfeet insoles (the yellow hockey specific pair), then went back out on the court today. My arches were still hurting. The second day was not nearly as bad as the first thought. The skates are not to small for me, if anything, a half size to big (unfortunately I can't return them).

This is my first pair of new skates since I was a kid 20 years ago.

*The boots are stiff, is this something that'll work itself out once the skates break in?
*Being that I haven't skated this aggressively in new skates, is this something that'll start feeling better one I get some time under my feet?

I'd hate to say that I bought the wrong skate for my feet??? Can anyone lend some input!

    Thanks

    Is width an issue?

I got a pair of Bauer XR3 regular size and they are too tight on the widest part of my forefoot. So I got a pair of Mission AC4s double E width on order, getting them next week.

Also did you "bake" your skates? Helps with the break in process, which will still take 4-5 hard skates on them, maybe longer depending on how stiff they are to start with.

    Hope this helps!
