I don't think it's a matter of whether or not the league/region "granted" a teams request to drop down a division. Being that most (if not all) of us are extremely competitive people, I would be willing to bet that every team would fight to stay in D1. I know I don't have all the facts, but based on what we read on this board, I don't see why CMU would initiate the request to move down......especially based on this seasons results for both D2 and their B team.
