Casey Jorgensen Joins USA Hockey National Office Staff as First General Counsel.... Casey Jorgensen, who has practiced law for 12 years and been involved in hockey for over 30 years, has been named USA Hockey's first-ever staff general counsel.
Jorgensen's involvement on the volunteer-leadership side of USA Hockey began in 1996 when he took on the role of referee-in-chief for inline hockey in the Northwest Zone. He held that role until 2006, while also becoming part of the Legal Council in 2001. From 2006-10, he served as the director of the Inline Section and he currently serves as the director of the Pacific District, a role he was elected to in 2010.
For the past 12 years, Jorgensen has practiced law with Williams, Kastner & Gibbs, PLLC, a full-service firm based in Seattle. He was elected to the firm's membership after seven years and has primarily served as a business and transactional lawyer, focusing on evaluating, structuring, negotiating and closing business transactions; corporate governance; counseling clients; and managing legal affairs for various aspects of clients' businesses. In addition, he has led the firm's trademark practice that deals with the registration, protection, liscensing and enforcement of trademarks.
