    2011-2012 secrhl di

It looks like the SECRHL DI will have 9 teams next year including
    -Tampa
    -GMU
    -NCSU
    -UCF
    -KSU
    -ECU
    -Bethel
    -Miami
    -FGCU

Should be a good year of competition!
Any of these teams losing or gaining players? I know that mason's team will be similar to last year, keeping the same core of guys.

Looks like i picked a good year to start looking at grad schools in the SECRHL.

Depending on grad school issues we lose from 1-3 players going into next season including myself. But we never know what we will get from the freshman class or from transfer students.

Someone said that if you go to Nationals in D2 this season you are required to move to D1? Did anyone else hear that?

That is true. DII SECRHL is going to be the weakest division in DII next year IMO. Everyone besides Florida is being forced to move up.

Not true. Getting a bid to nationals only means you're automatically reviewed by the NCRHA over the summer - it does NOT mean you're forced to move to DI. Don't take last year's amount of forced teams as an indicator of what percentage / number of teams that might be. Last year was the first year so it involved a lot of "cleaning house" - I would expect a much smaller number of teams to be bumped this year, though I've heard that quite a few are looking to make the move without any prompting.

That might be true Burke but the SECRHL D1 is gaining 6 teams! an over 100% increase in D1. JR and Ed have already sent out the schedule with the teams moving up. JMU, VT, and Florida should romp in SECHRL D2 next year. D1 should be wide open

And I love the expansion. The stronger DI becomes, the stronger the NCRHA becomes. Keep moving teams up while expaning Nationals. If all the good teams are in DI, you could have an amazing 30-40 team tournament where every game is competitive

Yea, there's no way Ball State could move up. We're losing 4 of our 9 players (although we are retaining our top two scorers).

ill be interested to see how the DII teams fare moving up, i know last year tampa and gmu took top seeds as being first year DI teams. i think this will be the closest DI conference, edging out the east who usually has the top to bottom most even conference. any predictions for who is gonna win it? i would say mason but i heard they have trouble in closing out overtime games :/

i would say the usual tamp, ucf, gmu are at the top...

as for the best of the new teams. as hard as it is for me to say, and as much as i hate them, i gotta go with bethel. it would be hard not to considering they return their whole team and will have so much practice time and such.

I dont know if I can agree with you ilovecollege. Tampa is losing Kotcher, Porter, and a couple other guys so that will hurt their firepower. I believe UCF is losing Cafferty as well. Anyone could come out on top. Bethel is going to have problems with only 4 solid players (they are losing a guy). Deep benches win games. Unless they sign new players. But hey, just my $.02

Should be a competitive year. Looking forward to it.
