It really depends on the coaches and area you live I find out. Some ice coaches around us absolutely hate roller players and others embrace them. My 9 year old son who has played nothing but roller his whole life recently starting skating at an ice clinic and yesterday one of the coaches asked me how long he has played ice and was surprised when I said never, just roller. Said he had really good hands and vision. In my area it seems the roller players are the ones with the better hands.
