What are peoples views on the top division 2 teams. who are they?
What are peoples views on the top division 2 teams. who are they?
I don't really know who the top teams are so far, but what I can say is that at least in the ECRHA, the DII teams are all true DII teams, and it is going to make the season better for everyone.
Well early on it's looking a lot like there's a ton of even competition amongst Division II where anyone can seriously compete with anyone. However in the early running it is looking like the top 3 teams from each division will be (Based on this AND last year's play):
ECRHA
Shippensburg
Northeastern
Pittsburgh/Drexel
GPCIHL
Missouri S&T
Saint Louis
Truman St.
MCRHL
Michigan Tech.
Ball St.
Northern Illinois
RMCRHA
School Of Mines
Northern Colorado
Colorado/Denver
SECRHL
Florida Gulf Coast
East Carolina
Virgina Tech
SCHL
Texas-Dallas
Stephen F. Austin
Louisiana Tech
WCRHL
California
Chico St.
UC Santa Cruz
I feel the national seatings per region might end up:
WCRHL (3), GPCIHL(3), SECRHL (3), ECRHA(3) MCRHL (2), RMCRHA (1) SCHL (1)
Regardless what is everyone's view from your own regions? In the ECRHA the top five teams looked as such:
- Drexel: brought a much deeper team to the second tournament then the team that tied a depleted Binghamton team 4-4
- Northeastern: we were able to beat Drexel and tie Pittsburgh without one of our most talented players able to make the trip, might surprise a lot of teams since almost none of them have seen us play.
- Pittsburgh: has some very good top end talent with perhaps some questions in net
- Shippensburg: looked like a very well balanced, very deep and very fast team.
- Slippery Rock: looked to have a ton of talent but dropped two games against some of the tougher teams which was in opposition to how they feasted on some of the weaker squads on Columbus day
NU other than the ecrha did you do any research other than looking at records? For the secrhl VT has no shot at making nationals. The only reason they won 3 games is because they played 3 cupcake games. In the only real competition they faced they got dominated 9-1 by a struggling and shorthanded Miami squad.
What kind of research is he supposed to do? It's not like he can look at game highlights or video or something. He's using what he has in hand. If you disagree, explain some details (rather than just going after him) and enlighten the rest of us. You make it seem like he had the Sports Illustrated SECRHL preview edition in hand and knew everyone's rosters.
It takes just as much time to write a more appropriate representation of your standings. Why not enlighten me about your region? I'm assuming you felt slighted, if so I apologize but this was as cursory of a posting as it gets off of what I know. I mean I am not oblivious, however most of my experience is what i saw of KSU, UCF, FAU, GMU, and UT at nationals last year.
It has nothing to do with feeling slighted. My team played poorly in the opening weekend and deserves no part of the nationals discussion until we play better. If you want to see my thoughts on the secrhl they are posted in any of the secrhl threads. I apologize if I sounded harsh in my first response. Was only trying to say that if you look a little closer you would see that your analysis can't be done by looming at records alone. VT being the obvious issue. There is nobody in the secrhl that would put VT in the top 5 teams in the secrhl.
I agree with beezeral, even though he plays with miami. they are definitely the top division 2 team in the secrhl. them and ecu will have a great game but they are definitely a top team. those 2 teams r the best in the division. too b honest even though i am more of an ecu but not a fan of either i think miami is definitely better. and i heard they were missing 3 of their top players. Look at some of the players on miami. they have a solid team. ecu just has 3 solid players.
3 solid players? You sure you were watching the right team?
Thanks Beezeral...it's not all about points...
Here's info for everyone's researchand I think the 3 from SECRHL will be ECU, Miami, and either FGCU or Bethel.
