I dont want to pass on any bad info but this is what i got out of the last talk i had with the MLRH. As of right now, it is shaping up to be 2 teams from Chicago, 1 different team from Det, a team from St.Louis and a team from Cincy and the Michigan Thunder in our Midwest Division. Itan Chavira is now the director of the west coast for the MLRH, i believe they have 4 or 5 teams in the Pacific Division. SO, if he is endorsing it, and i played on his line last year when he played for us, then it should shape up to be a really fun league this year. Come out and try it. Honestly, there is so much respect on the rink for one another in the Pro games that it rarely gets out of control. I mean it is full contact, fighting, real hockey but i never dropped the gloves once last year and i was shocked. Like i said, come try it, see what it is about and if it is a good fit for you as a player, sign up!

Any more questions drop me or Ben an email.

Hope to see you all at our tryouts or playing for another team in the MLRH this season!

I have actually played MLRH alot before. Was the goalie for the back to back champs the Gladiators many years ago. It boomed here in the Norhteast about 8 years ago and ill only talk for the team i played for and the people ive spoke to but we were left with, lets just put it as a bad taste in our mouths to be polite. I hope for all the best because when we had teams and everyone showed up it was a fun time. I used to really look forward to MLRH games so good luck getting back to those days.

Awesome to hear that you were in the league with the Gladiators. They were very very good teams. We have a great league director now, Doug Jones, he is a top notch guy.
I hate to hear that your team was treated like that or left with that impression. Last year was my first year in the MLRH. I have played in the SM-Liiga pro inline in Finland last summer and in 2001 and I have played Narch and all those types of tourneys. I grew up playing ice hockey and checking/fighting, keeping your head up, was just part of the game. So when i got asked to play last year for Michigan, i really had no idea what i was getting into. I was shocked at first, but as the season went on i figured it out. It was one of my favorite hockey experiences in my life. Better than Finland. I played against Oli Jokinen and Jarkko Ruutu one year over there....But the league is really heading in the right direction. If you want to play we would love to have you come and see what our team is all about and maybe we can bring back some of those fun times for you? If you know of any other guys that would want to play have them get a hold of our coach or me.
Take care! Hope to see you sometime too!

when i first played MLRH i was a supporter until after the season. I would also say that it put a bad taste in my mouth and i will not be returning. Out of the three major leagues (aihl, piha and mlrh) I’d say aihl is the best of the three but my involvement in any major league will be minimal from here on out
