hahaha I am no Time Zone expert but I am pretty sure the promised time has past..
Yeah, I'm still waiting... but screw it, I'm going to bed
i was suprised when they released the bids on time this year so i thought maybe there was a chance that when i woke up this morning the pools would be up...figures.
Anybody have a clue when can expect to see a schedule?
they should be out tomorrow, apparently there was a problem with D1 pools, and they didnt want to give out the d2 pools out separately. D2 is done they just wont release it.
UNLV dropped out of D1 so I'm sure that's what has caused the delay. They were the 4th team to not accept their D1 bid and only 3 alternates were named. So, with little notice they've had to fill UNLV's spot.
Since we are a half hr from the beach, I Hope the hotel has a big POOL
so why are teams that are from the same region in the same pool? they could just drive 100 miles (some even less) to play each other, why fly hundreds of miles to do so?

Guys don't bash the national tournament procedures....it is the perfect championship set up and no one should disagree with it...there is not a better solution even if u think so...there has to be 2846484648 teams at the tourny so we can pay for everyones vacation....hell I'm all for a national tourny but it seriously needs to be cutback bigtime...
Just about everyone staffing NCRHA is either a parent or former player, and we have been in your shoes. If people were making any kind of appreciable money it would be obvious, since the organizations are NPOs and budgets are available - have your club rep ask if you're curious. A fairly high amount of teams are needed financially so NCRHA can secure a reasonable rate on the rink and hotels and can afford to actually get officials and staff out there to make the event happen.
From a competitive standpoint, how many teams do you think should attend?
I think they should keep it the way it is. The only difference might be 20 teams for D1 and D2 so there are the same amount teams. The only reason i say that is the amount of teams that were D1 that didn't make the trip. But i realize the reason for having more teams make it for D1 is to try to get teams to move up, with after this year should work better than ever.
Obviously we have to have the event at a different venue every year so that teams get a break every couple years from flying. And to piggyback on Mike Burke's comment, the only way we could cut back is by having all the refs from that conference work the National tournament so you don't have to fly guys from the other side of the country. But then everyone would cry about home-cooking.
Lastly, at NARCh, TORHS and AAU every team that plays in regionals goes to Nationals and in men's you dont even have to play at regionals. So its not like EVERY team gets a bid so its still exciting to say you got to go.
I think from a competitive standpoint there should not be more than 12. I can see there being 16, but anything over that is absurd. I'm all for underdogs winning but come one nothing ranked outside the top 10 has even a 1% chance a winning in d1. From a money stand point if 20 teams for a national tournament is needed for a budget/crew to make the trip something has to be wrong. I don't have the answer and yes probably came off wrong on that statement but the crew working it shouldnt have to be so steep to sacrifice the level of play.
I'm sorry yes nationals are a great experience but a sub .500 team that didn't win it regional or even finish in the top 4 has absolutely no business in nationals. If you don't agree your out of your mind. I hate to use them but hofstra does not belong in nationals.
