    D II Regionals

SOUTHEAST REGIONALS D II: So I heard that there are only 8 teams making it to regionals this semester, not the usual 10 or 12. And there are about 6 teams fighting for the last one or two spots. Why are they only taking 8 teams this year? and who thinks we should petition to allow more teams? Let me hear everyone's thoughts about this issue

To be totally honest it is only necessary to have 8 teams there. When you bring in other teams it makes scheduling more difficult, and what would be the point of taking a team that isn't in the top 8? There isn't going to be a team that is not in the top 4 that will go to Nationals unless they win regionals.

USF last year bailed on regionals because we were in 7th or 8th place and realized the 8 hour trip would be worthless unless we won regionals. And lets all be honest, was that happening? NO.

USF is planning on going this year because it is the last chance for a lot of seniors on the team, but in reality what is the point? (Besides planning hockey for free-school pays)

there is NO reason to have more than 8 teams at the SECRHL regionals. after the top three (in my opinion miami, UT, and GMU), there are only maybe 3 or 4 other schools that can maybe pull off an upset and make some noise. if more than 8 schools were to go, the only thing it would change would be the amount of time it would take to make the schedule. 8 teams is plenty.

UT is undefeated and GMU is 11-1. The definition of weak.

I think it was shown that GMU and UT are worthy, but UM was UPSET by Kennesaw in Snellville....

    1.Tampa
    2.GMU
    3.Miami
    4.Kennesaw
    5.ECU
    6.USF
    7.WCU
    8.UF/FSU

Of those, only the top 7 would have a legitimate chance, FSU and UF couldn't hang with Tampa or GMU. 3-7 are all pretty even from what I've seen. The final four will undoubtedly be Tampa, GMU, then two of those five.

The thing about your prediction is WCU has 8 games left, FSU should easily make it over UF but you forgot about VT who still has a shot with 4 games left and James madison still has a shot with plenty of games left. Vt and JM shouldnt make it bc who they lost to but there record can beat out UF and FSU which is why I believe there should be more than 8 teams bc so many teams are fighting for that last spot. Not to mention Elon who still has a chance with 8 games left depending on their schedule for their next 2 tournaments.

Lets just let everyone go. Why even have rankings?

Dan Patrick: With the first nine months of the Baseketball postseason out of the way, the playoff picture is starting to emerge.

Kenny Mayne: So, with last night's victory over Boston, next week the Milwaukee Beers must beat Indianapolis in order to advance to Charlotte. That's in an effort to reduce their magic number to three.

Dan Patrick: Right, and then the Beers can advance to the National Eastern Division North to play Tampa.

Kenny Mayne: So, if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

Elon, VT, and JMU are not as good as the the top 7. They could not upset a a GMU or Tampa. Strength of schedule needs to be taken into account.
