Asia's Largest Inline Hockey Tournament in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Inline Cup is in it's 9th year running and is currently Asia Pacific's largest inline hockey tournament.

This tournament is for youths, ladies, and men. It will be held from November 11-15 for youth and November 18-22 for adults.

We have teams from all 5 continents attending including: Canada, UK, Swiss, Germany, France, Brazil, Iran, Australia, Singapore, China, Korea, Taiwan, etc.

Which Aussie team is going? Unfortunately Flyers won't be going this year, which is a huge shame - we still need to have that big clash in the final vs Vancouver. That was a huge shame last year, both teams were really looking forward to playing each other.

Great tournament though, we've always had heaps of fun. Can you update the website with a tentative list of who is going? The current stuff is all from last year.

Yes Flyers vs. Vipers would have been the dream final but it was still a good semi's vs. Iran. It's a huge shame that Flyers won't be coming! You are a great team and always entertaining to watch! Hope you come back next year!

I need to confirm which Aussie team is coming, maybe Diggies? I will get the admin people to try and update the websites. Which one are you looking at by the way - YMCA or Hong Kong China Inline Hockey Assoc.?

Went to the HKIC last year for the first time and highly recommend it! Well organized tourney, some great teams and a fantastic city to explore.

i think the updated team list should be up on the website within this week. Nigeria and some ASEAN teams will be showing up this year. Should be really exciting.

it's my 3rd inline cup and can't wait for 5 days of non-stop hockey!

do you have a web address that you could post, get people to post it on twitter, league pages. create a fan page on facebook- would attract some interest, raise awareness and also can be used during the tournament for teams to keep upto date etc..

What is the level of play at this event? Can someone compare it to something in the US?
Silver? Gold? Platinum? "Pro"? All levels?

And can you post a link to the website(s) you are mentioning?

some team are between gold/platinum while others are more the silver/gold end.

maybe linking some sponsorship with the sports travel companies (not mentioning any names) to promote/discount the travel and accom

skooled: the hotel we all stay at is organised through the YMCA - its VERY nice and really cheap too, it isn't at all what you imagine when they say "you'll be staying at the YMCA".

there's actually cheaper deals this year, yet equally good if not better in terms of accomodation. We've worked out a special rate at Eaton Hotel, which is literally 2 minutes away from the rink.
