Serious Hockey For A Serious Cause

Thank you, Richard, for your publishing the story about young Casey Strale in today's headline story. It's sometimes the stories about the little heroes of our sport who make us all bigger and better.

The hockey community is quickly pitching in to help young Casey. From George Parros and the Anaheim Ducks to Casey's Jr. High team's blood drive, and more, we're all encouraged by the actions of this community to quickly rally together for such a worthy cause. Indeed, that's what makes this sport and its people so very special.

While praying for Casey and his journey ahead, we're still also remembering a fallen hero: Evan Cousineau - a 9 year old hockey player who was the GBPH tourney's focus in 2007. Sadly, Even lost his battle with ALD the day before his 10th birthday, but inspired a new journey in giving life to others as demonstrated in the YouTube video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK4Q2aX753E

Inspired by those who need us, we're grateful for your help and continue do what we can to give back and pay it forward!

Our hopes and prayers go out to young Casey and his family.

Thank you again for all you do!

    BEST!

Re: Give Blood Play Hockey 2009

Thank you one and all for being such a wonderful community to be a member of! The Give Blood Play Hockey Tournament is all about Hockey Helping Hockey and we're fortunate to be able to help many with the help of others.

While the event has hours left yet into today's schedule, the weekend has been filled with milestones and memorable events so far. Yesterday, a new one day record for blood collections with a single bloodmobile at 41 pints, today at 80+ with hours left to go, plus bone marrow donors still stacking up to join the Be The Match registry. Thousand$ in donations continue to flow in, too!

Today, we were joined by the Ducks' Wild Wing and Power Players cheerleaders in our feature attractions and off-rink fun. At the center of attention was a family salute back to the community from Casey Strale's family and teammates, a Wheelchair Roller Hockey exhibition, and the Mission All-Stars Skill Challenge, not to mention some great hockey play on all three rinks.

One more full day left of this annual event and another fun day ahead!

Thanks again to the roller and ice hockey community alike for helping to make this an event to come together for the charitable causes we support.

    BEST!
