PIHA Champions Set Plans For 2009-2010
With the 2009-2010 Professional Inline Hockey Association’s eighth season right around the corner the reigning champions have announced their training camp dates. The Colorado Springs Thunder announced free agent tryout dates for the upcoming season in an effort to get started early and skate often. “We are looking forward to this season and realize the opportunity we have in front of us. This year everyone will be gunning for us and with the changes that have been made by the league it’s going to be tougher than ever to repeat, so we want to get this organization chosen and get the guys together as quickly and often as possible,” said GM/Head Coach, Dave Needham.
“We had a heck of a run last year and are looking forward to this year. With league changes like new teams and crossover regular season games both the players and the fans have got to be pumped for this year, I know I am,” said league leading scorer Brian Yingling. The Thunder will play its fourth season in the Rocky Mountain Division of PIHA and are looking to ride their winning ways to a second PIHA championship.
The Thunder will be holding tryouts next Sunday, August 16 from 11am-2pm and then again on Thursday, August 20 from 7-10pm at the Tour Arena in Colorado Springs. Tryouts will be $70 and tryout fee must be paid prior to trying out.
Tryouts for the Thunder Masters and Thunder Women’s teams will also be held on August 16. The Master’s tryout will be at Tour Arena from 10-11am and the Women’s tryout will be at Tour Arena from 5-6pm.
