    Truman State

I want to congratulate TSU on another outstanding season and point out the fact that they have a great group of players and seniors on their team who deserve a lot of credit for 4 great years of hockey at the highest level. It is obviously frustrating having seasons end just short of the title, but that does not take away from the accomplishments your team has made throughout the season and in attaining degrees. For the past 2 years TSU has been our greatest rivalry and 4 games in a row ended in ties, with one being decided in overtime. Each time we have played TSU i have enjoyed the class and effort evident in the entire team and am honored to have coached against a great pair of coaches.

Truman State is everything good about college roller hockey.

They're the only team in the GPCIHL who wears ties to the rink. They've always had passionate, dedicated players and leaders who are students first but also great hockey players. It's unfair to name one or two or five, because up and down the lineup they live up to this description, but I definitely have to mention Jim Dougherty, one of my favorite players to watch for the past four years.

There's a lot more to add...I don't have time at the moment, but I'll be posting something else later.

And congratulations to Missouri State, another extremely classy team, on back to back GPCIHL DII titles.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. It truly was not the way I pictured to end my great plains career. But I'm definitely proud of the season we've had. After my hockey-related accident my freshmen year, I've truly been really privileged and fortunate to come back and play with my best friends for these four years.

We'll see you guys at nationals.

P.S. James - did you get any good video of Bales putting that guy through the glass? When's that gonna hit youtube?

I wish. The impact caused my thumb to flip the switch on the camcorder, and it shut off.

I'm pretty sure I had my hand/wrist propped up on top of the glass and was crouched on the chair, hiding behind the glass with the camera hanging over the top (that's what I usually do when the play is against the glass in front of me) when the glass exploded. So my hand and the camera kind of flipped forward and down when there was suddenly no glass left to hold my arm up.

Probably the only chance I'll ever get to film a whole pane of glass shattering from three inches away. It could have been a great piece of footage...but it isn't. It just cuts off.

(Instead of being mad that I didn't catch the whole thing on tape, I should probably be thankful I'm not sitting here with stitches in my head or something.)

It was Bales and Zach Jacob...two big boys. I don't know much about physics, but I wonder if my skinny little arm resting on top of the glass had anything to do with the big glass explosion.

    Oh no.

    Sorry Rick and Tina.

    Cool Re: Truman State

That will definately be one of the most memorable moments of the year for me. I think it was my stick that hit the top of the glass that shattered it because i didnt think i hit it that hard. Good thing we just got moved over to the next rink so we didnt have to wait for them to fix it. Good game Truman and we'll see ya'll at nationals. Good Luck
