    ECRHA Regionals

If my calculations and assumptions are correct, here are the pools for the upcoming weekend's ECRHA DI Regionals:

    #1 - Rutgers
    #4 - Rhode Island
    #5 - Penn State
    #8 - West Point

    #2 - Buffalo
    #3 - Towson
    #6 - Stony Brook
    #7 - UCONN

Predictions? I have a couple "unbiased" ones:

1-Dark Horse? UCONN, I think they'll make it to the Semi-Finals, then let the chips fall where they may.

2-Penn State could go all the way. Its a no brainer to predict a Rutgers vs Buffalo final, two very talented and well deserving teams. But, I'll go out on a limb and I'll pick Penn State to win it all.

    Re: ECRHA Regionals

ECRHA Regionals should be an absolute blast to watch, I can't see any bad games or any big blowouts, all 8 teams there deserve to be in the mix for the title of ECRHA champion.

    That being said-

I think Buffalo will take it, they have a lot of experience, and seem to be getting better each and every tournament. Rhode Island also has a legitimate shot at going far too, if they can stay out of the box and play their game.

I like Stony Brook and UCONN as dark horse picks to perhaps upset one or two teams and sneak into the semifinals. Tom Cartwright for Stony Brook is going to be their key player in order for them to advance. He is one of the most underrated players in ECRHA, look for him to take over close games for SBU. If UCONN is going anywhere, they need Jesse Creek to play out of his mind. He has shown that he can anchor an upset, and has been playing pretty well for UCONN. It is very possible that a more deserving team than UCONN can get knocked out if he plays his game.

Good luck to all next weekend at regionals.

Ill call a RUtgers Buffalo final with Rutgers winning. Two teams that have been great all season and have enough composure to play well when it matters.

That is correct, everything worked itself out pretty easily, with Towson gaining the 3 seed over Rhode Island by virtue of 11 wins to 10.

    Predictions:

    Towson vs. Stony Brook
    Buffalo vs. Connecticut
    Rutgers vs. West Point
    Rhode Island vs. Penn State
    Buffalo vs. Stony Brook
    Rutgers vs. Penn State
    Towson vs. Connecticut
    Rhode Island vs. West Point
    Rutgers vs. Rhode Island
    Stony Brook vs. Connecticut
    Buffalo vs. Towson
    Penn State vs. West Point

The schedule is pretty stacked, which is the point of pool play. It was easy to pick winners in most match ups, but I'm seeing a couple upsets during the weekend.

I am anticipating the Buffalo vs. Towson game the most of all the games in the event. True, the two games the teams have played this season weren't very close, but a lot has happened since last fall.

Because it wasn't posted until just now. We had to sort through some issues before the B Division was decided.

    1. Points in pool play
    2. Wins in pool play
    3. Incoming seed for regionals

[Edit] Head-to-head isn't a tiebreaker for regionals. The chance of it ever coming up is incredibly small anyways.
