I know we are not allowed to have logos of companies on any part of a uniform in return for sponsorship compensation...But what if we were able to get sponsorships without having to display their logo or if we can put logos on a banner and hang it above our bench. With league fees, practice fees, jerseys, now matching pants, matching helmets, matching gloves, and other fees money is becoming very tight for some teams. If we were able to do some sort of sponsorships it would really alleviate some of the financial pressure on some teams. So basically is this possible? Do any teams currently do this?
Have you thought about putting the sponsor logo on team shirts, jackets, equipment bags, website, etc. In all reality, that may provide more exposure for your sponsor than a spot on your jersey. A logo on the jersey only gives the sponsor exposure during your games, a logo on a team bag would give the company exposure everytime that player went to the rink.
Just a thought...
Banners above the bench are absolutely acceptable, and welcomed. ACE I know makes sublimated banners, which can include all of your sponsor logos. Another good way is to put it on team tshirts. Local businesses might prefer the exposure of the ~25 guys on your team, friends, girlfriends, whoever wearing their logo around campus more than a banner at some far of rink. We have done this for a few years with AllSport Marketing, where we got the shirts ridiculously cheap and were able to basically give them away.
