HOCKEY HELPING HOCKEY
The connection is made; Inline meets Ice for one weekend
Colorado Springs, Colorado – If there is one thing said to often, it is that Inline Hockey is just like Ice Hockey with wheels. One thing people refuse to understand is that the two sports are separate and different from each other. They are simply different games, both of which have their own specialties. To many players and parents these days talk about “moving to ice”. Something that's hard to understand is why these players stop playing Inline Hockey when they make that change. It is possible to play Inline Hockey and Ice Hockey, just as it is possible to play Soccer and Basketball. That is why the Windjammer Sports Association® and Barnett Studios have partnered to create Hockey Helping Hockey. “The goal of Hockey Helping Hockey is to connect Inline Hockey and Ice Hockey in a fun, tournament style atmosphere…” said AJ Barnett (President of the Windjammer Sports Association® and Owner of Barnett Studios), “We would like to show parents and players that the two sports can operate in harmony, and that it is not necessary to make a decision between the two. By bringing both of the sports under one roof, it is our belief that this dream will easily become a reality.” AJ continued.
Hockey Helping Hockey will host its first event in May of 2009 in Colorado. The event format guarantees each team 4 games (2 ice, 2 inline) with the top 2 teams in each division playing in a Best of Three championship. The first game will be played on the ice, the second will be inline. The third game (if necessary) will be decided by coin toss.
The event is still in it's planning stages and the Windjammer Sports Association® isn't currently ready for a full reveal. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting program.
