Has anyone ever baked a pair of Cobalt Q's ? Is this recomended or not ?
...or is a heat gun a better option ?

I've never baked a pair of Cobalt Q's, but I have baked 2 pair of Tour Beemers and 3 pairs of Graf ice skates and have not had a problem at all. I do it in my oven at home. Set the oven to 200 degrees F, after it heats up to the appropriate temp, turn the oven off, put your skates in the oven standing upright, leave them in for 20 minutes, take them out ( BE CAREFUL OF HOT EYELETS AND CHASSIS), while sitting put the skates on (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THEM), then wear them while seated for 30 minutes while they cool trying not to tilt your feet to either side, take the skates off and let them cool over night before you play in them. My buddy played pro ice hockey in Europe for several years and always baked his skates this way, I do the same. I was nervous the first time I did it but I haven't had any problems. Good luck!

I have heard that baking your skates in an oven at home can make the skate bake unevenly and I am wondering if this has any merit. I just got a pair of Mission Boss and I like them but they are pretty stiff right now and do to an extra bone in my ankle (weird i know) I have really horrible feet to begin with so I get blisters badly. I have baked them in an actual skate bake once and I have heard that its ok to bake skates twice if you need to but i dont really feel like shelling out another $25 bucks.

If you dig around the mission site, you will find a link to their old instructions. You might also try googling for the info - I used to have the link saved but it's gone now. Essentially, if you have a convection oven, you are good to go. You are supposed to bake them for 7 minutes at 175 degrees.
