Pama Blades tie?
I noticed on the AIHL website that Pama and the Blades had a 4 - 4 tie. I was wondering if the overtime rules are the same as the rules in piha last year. If these rules are the same I do not see how a game could end tied.
Does anyone have more info on this. Thanks

Re: Pama Blades tie?
Yes games can end in a tie. It is supposed to be a 5 minute Sudden Death 3 on 3. If no one scores it ends in a tie. If someone does score, the losing team receives 1 point for OT loss. For play off, it is 4 on 4 for minutes periods until someone scores. No shoot out like PIHA.
This is from the rule book that is posted under the Documents link on the AIHL website.

Re: Pama Blades tie?
Just my two cents, I hate ties in any sport, I would imagine that most people do, this is one rule that should be looked at. I know that there are rink costs and things of this nature, but I would hate to bring kids or any fans to a game to see a tie. Maybe next year in the AIHL the owners should talk about this, just a small suggestion to make things better.

I think it should be one OT period, then a SO. That's how the NHL does it, and it keeps people on the edge of their seat. I'm not quite sure how ending games in a tie can help anything.

Be sure to get those ideas on paper and present them to the owners of your respective teams. It can all be voted on by the owners.
