PLEASE - I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, if the benefit of the Newron skate is "its like your skating on ice", is there any benefit to someone whom has never skated on ice? By this I mean for instance: turning, stopping, speed, etc.
If the skate's major benefit is that it mimics the feel of "skating on ice", great. Now, maybe even more ice guys, and gals, will give inline a try.

Great to hear, but I'd like to hear a review after 2-3 months of use......I'm sure you'll have alot more insight about them then, other than "awesome skate".
I come from an ice hockey background, so this sounds interesting. It is some times difficult to get a good toe-kick with inline, especially when the front wheels get worn down.
I know you haven't had them too long, so some of these are maybe more for Eric.
How durable does the chassis seem to be?
Does it seem like it would hold up to shots against it?
How does it do when doing hockey stops? From the few pictures I've seen I can't tell how the spring system is built, so can't tell if the chassis would buckle or do anything odd with the force from stopping.
The website makes it sound like the chassis is meant more for sharper turns than an actual hockey stop. How has your skating changed with the chassis?
Do you have to get used to the pivoting of the chassis and you go up on one of the sets of 2 wheels?
Any pics of the skates, I couldn't find many on the Newron website.
Thanks, and good luck with the skates. It sounds like a very interesting idea.
Stephen
whether it makes it more like ice or not, i don't know... I just see there may be some benefit in the ability to extend your stride even further.
You can possibly find more information on the topic by searching for clap-skates. Those of you who remember when the ice speed skaters transitioned from regular fixed long track blades to the clap skates will remember the way world record times just got smashed overnight.

I am just curios have you tried the sprung frame? Cause they seem to be very close in how they look but i know the technology is different and would really like to know which one you think is better and what one really feels more like ice.
sprung site: http://www.sprung-inline.com/
We got to test the Sprung chasis in California. Two complete different technologies, Sprung gives you a "bouncy" push and the wheels are set fairly close. When I say bouncy it is not negative, it is a swifter push off supplied through the action of the chasis. More speed in turns and coming out of crossovers.
I am waiting to see the Newron chasis as Marc Genest and I will be receiving ours this week. In talking with the company who have been extremely genuine and helpful, this product may help alot of the transitioning players and make people like Nathan Sigmund even more deadlier than he is already. I would expect NARCh this summer to have quite a few pro teams wearing the chasis. Hopefully the SC Pirates will be doing the same.
Will post a review on the product after Marc and I skate on them next Thursday.

Ok, great question, in fact we might be changing our slogan, let me put it in better terms; you will have the back wheels lifted from the ground for better quick control, you will have more agility, With the wheels mounted in pairs on a light weight chassis where support springs allow for a toe kick and replicated cross-over strides. Hi Stephen,
For this, there is no doubt, our skate passes the test very easily, it has been tested very often. It holds like any other normal roller hockey skates. That is the first thing we checked, it doesn't cause problem. It is built in respect of your skills, turning, stopping, acceleration. The people who first tried it and tested it our NHL hockey players, because, at the time, we didn't know roller hockey players. It was Stephane Roy, Patrick Roy's brother, played for Minnesota, who tested it very stongly and Francis Bouillon from Montreal Canadians. We are aware you need your skate to be strong and it is, no doubt
Thank you!
