With affiliates from NBC, ABC and CBS, and the local newspapers in tow, the SC Pirates introduced their new colors and jerseys to the media today. They unveiled their Southeast division championship banner and trophy to the media and answered several questions in regard to the team and it's upcoming season.
The Team then discussed their plans for the 2008 - 2009 season with PIHA.
They presented their plan to reach out in the community and continue to work with several charities and children's homes. They also announced that for the 2008 - 2009 season, all military personnel and veterans are given free admission to all SC Pirates home games.
This along with the "Family fun package" where a family of four receives four tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks and general admission to an SC Pirates game for only $15.00
The team also announced it would be playing home dates during 2Hot4ice, Coastal Cup and Echo hockey tournaments on Saturday evenings to expose as many youth hockey players as possible to PIHA (www.thepiha.com) the professional league the SC Pirates are returning to.
WMBF (NBC Affiliate) interviewed Pirates top scorer, Marc Genest and asked for his expectations for the upcoming season. Rick Van Blarcum, owner of the SC Pirates also spoke of his goals to help the Pirates reach a larger market for the 2008 - 2009 season
