    Exposure please... With some punch!

What Roller Hockey needs in North America is EXPOSURE!

Look at what is hot at the present time on TV/Cable/Web/Satellite, it is things like WWE, UFC, etc...

People want action and lets be honest, some violence. PIHA and the AiHL won't bring that to the public.

The only league that might have a small chance of making it back on TV/Cable on a regular basis is MLRH (or a similar product)

If they could put together 8 teams, from all the players that are available in North America (or the World if needed), they could pay them ($$$ yes money), have a 2 hours slot on TV (games are 48min.).

When I played for The Bullets I started discussions with Comcast in Philly and they were really receptive.

I think it can be done, we just need the right product at the right time.

The product is MLRH (or a league that allows fighting and body checking), the time... Unfortunately, the best time was 2 years ago while the NHL lockout.

I hope you guys get what you deserve because Roller Hockey is a wonderful sport.

P.S. We have a semi-pro hockey league here called the Ligue Nord Americaine de Hockey (http://www.lnah.ca/) teams play in front of 2K-3K fans every games, the league understood that for the fans to drive to the rink and pay their tickets they needed to offer a show, a spectacle. Teams/owners/players understood and they got what they wanted, full house every games against an arch rival, sometimes games last over 3 hours but with a good show, no fans complains.

    Have a great summer guys!

You make a good point, full-checking roller hockey with occasional fighting has a better chance of making it on TV. Unfortunetly, some of inline hockey's best players wouldn't do as well in a full-checking league. (plus guys on the other team would just pick a fight with the best players to get them injured) Most of the players in the league would probably be minor league ice hockey guys.

    Mr Canada,
Please tell me why their are so few youth hockey teams from your area/province with all the hockey in that area of Canada. I would think that Montreal and the province of Quebec could produce a plethora of youth players.

i agree with you, the thought is great but i just don't think that it will work. Your going to need to get some big investors, or multiple medium sized investors. And they have to realize that they are going to lose a ton of money before they even make some sort of a profit. You mention the UFC, im glad, but if you look at the history of it and how Dana White had to work his ass off do get it to where it is today it seems nearly impossible in with roller hockey. There are so many aspects needed to put something together that you mention and it probably won't happen, i hope im wrong though.

well thats something you have to deal with as a team. as far as fighters beating up teams top scorers it happens night in and night out in the nhl. thats why your team has fighters to protect those players and as a top scorer on your team, its your job to work through that, while still putting the puck in the net.
