    Will AIHL be using PowerPlayStats?

Just curious if the AIHL will be using PowerPlay Stats, or even PointStreak.Com? The AAU is notorious for being very slow................ posting scores. Stats, rosters, etc. are nonexistant - at least at the J/O level, which is their premier event.

PIHA, at the league ownership level has also been very slow at doing the same things....once again it looks like it will be up to the teams to get stories, scores, etc posted. Which is fine, hopefully more players will take the initiative to do it.

Shouldn't the AIHL change their website look? I mean I went to the site and I thought I accidently went to PIHA's site. If the AIHL wants to differentiate itself from PIHA, should the websites be so similar?

I personally feel that there isn't a better league tracking system out there than PPS... Yes, the content is left to be the responsibility of the league owners, but I feel that is ideal as well, if everyone commits to contributing...

I'm sure PPS can do look and feel customizations, if it bothers enough people they should bring that up to the AIHL to change, right?

And since about 95% of the people who used to do this are now gone, who will do it now. Perhaps they should go back to the website that was created out in colorado and let them handle it.

We're working together with AIHL on some design updates - what you see now is one of our stock templates and not indicative of what the final design may or may not be.

When I posted ALL the stats in XIHL from scoresheets sent/faxed to me by Steve Seeger they were updated no later than Tuesday night. I believe I was using a program set up by Mike Burke. There may have only been 4-6 scoresheets a weekend but if I could do that then I really don't see why any league/team can't get them in 48 hrs after the game was played. Maybe it's just me but I think that is a reasonable timetable.

Theoretically any team with internet access at the rink should be able to have a live box score. It doesn't take any more than putting a laptop in the box and we've supported that functionality for over five years.

It is a reasonable timetable, considering that the stats can be put into the system live and its 1/2 the effort of keeping the stats on paper and then entering them online later. Additionally, it really only takes 5 minutes to enter a ECRHA game for me, 10 if there is an abundant number of penalties in the game.

I have experience entering what amounts to 80 games from events like the ECRHA All-Stare Event, ECRHA Regionals in less than 48 hours and the Columbus Day Event, which because of lack of rosters for a bunch of teams makes it even harder and they are still done in under 48 hours as well. To think that teams had such a hard time with it and only had 4-8 games a weekend to enter was astounding to me. PowerPlayStats is a great system and the AIHL is making a good choice in using it for their league.

Being an observer from So Cal, I would have to say that the stats not being up to date does look bad to people not directly involved with the leagues. Hopefully the owners will step up and make sure this gets better, but if players want to see the AIHL grow and succeed where PIHA didn't, they really need to speak up as well and let the owners of their team hear it. What's that old saying? It takes a village. (Ask Rich, he is the resident expert on old)

Not that I have a clue, but if AIHL is doing the 'tournament' weekend structure (they are, right? I haven't been keeping up THAT much), then there should be some point people at whatever rink it is that is being used that weekend to get these games up quickly. Like Bill said, 5 minutes a game.

Get a laptop, and instead of doing the crosswords on the pooper, enter your damn scoresheets!
