Anyone who attended have any information about what is going to happen with the AIHL?
Anyone who attended have any information about what is going to happen with the AIHL?
I would expect to see a press release in the next day or so.
Does anyone know how the turnout for the meeting was?
it was actually changed from a meeting for the aihl to a scheduling meeting for aau's nationals that began a few days ago.
Hi HockeyFan1989,
The press release is now up on the IHC Home Page.

Alex isn't that your team I see listed as one of the ones committed?
I suspect that more west coast teams will be joining the dragons? Otherwise that would be quite a travel schedule!
Bill Katinsky
Heard that the rest of the sw division was in as well as the pacific division. Southern Cal will also be joining which is not a shocker since WIHA is an AAU league. Any truth to this?
So alright... forgive me for being curious one here.... I see 9 teams in the article... who are the other at least 21 teams that committed?
F~F
I heard the same thing as center ice. The whole west minus Colorado, but adding a socal division. That's at least 16 more teams right there...
Bill Katinsky
You must have misread the release...
30 teams were "represented" at the meeting
The "majority" of those teams committed. Majority is subjective in a sense, but 16+ would be the literal definition.

I was on the call yesterday and I will say that most of the teams fully committed.
Those that did not said they needed to think about it and discuss with their players, etc but were strongly leaning towards AIHL.
I will not post a list of those who did commit as it is not my place to speak for someone else.
As for the Fire Ants, we are discussing as a team and with the other owners in the North East before making final decisions.

There were a lot of teams represented at the meeting, a lot of them committed but some wanted more time to talk to their teams. CJ Gamble was their for the Pacific Division for anyone who was wondering, but he did not make a final decision. I will be making a announcement on the future of the ARHA very soon.

Yeah, looks like Dragons are committed to AIHL. Not my decision, as I'm just a player on the team...but that really doesn't mean anything. I don't see 3 other teams in the Southwest playing next season. If we have nobody to play, it doesn't matter where we commit. I'll be surprised to see 3 teams between AZ Strike, El Paso, Tucson, and Vegas come together to form a division.
But who knows? If there's a SoCal division, maybe we play in that.
