Cool article Richard. One question: Who are the Southside Vipers?
Haha.
Hey Dave,
Oh, yeah. It's the Snipers, not the Vipers. Got RHI on my brain, obviously. I will fix it. Thanks.![]()

Nicely done Richard. Thanks!
Best of luck to Mr. Shayne Carroll, and THANK YOU for serving our country!
A super story, Richard! I hope this touches readers from Torrance, CA to Colo. Springs, CO and all points beyond.

Hey Dave,
Thank you. Sorry it took such a long time to get it done. I had expected the Thunder to go deeper into the playoffs, so I put the story on the back burner for a little too long. Thanks for suggesting the story idea; Shayne is a class act, and it was a blast to interview him, hang out with him in Colorado Springs, and get a tour of the Air Force Academy to boot.
Whatever happens with the PIHA and the AIHL in the future, there are players and coaches and administrators in both leagues whose character and qualities portend good things for our sport down the line.

Shayne Carroll will be missed in the inline hockey world. He really wanted to win it (PIHA) this year, knowing he wasn't going to be able to play for a long time.
A great teamate and leader in the lockeroom!
Great article Richard. It really shows how he cares so much for this sport and that he is sacrificing what he loves for a greater cause: Serving our country!
