They need to stay regional instead of each competing for supremacy. They also need to have all their ducks lined up before announcing anything. That really hurts their credibility. I'd really like to hear more details from NIHL, mostly I want to know who it is that's behind it but I haven't gotten any word back.

yeah my buddy and i were talking about this earlier. how stupid is this getting? and just to let you know i am starting my own league. it doesn't have a name yet, but it has "inline hockey" in it. i mean wow all of these new so called leagues are just hurting the sport even more. yeah PIHA has its fair share of problems, but it's the league right now whether people like it or not.

This has happened to some extent in every professional sport in its infancy. Why not here, too?

for that to happen you have to establish a very clear pecking order - I don't think PIHA has established itself as 'the' league yet.

Consider ice hockey, the NHL became the top because it has established a place where nobody can displace it - or look like displacing it. But that wasn't always so, there was pro-hockey before NHL that the NHl displaced to become top dog, and there were other pro leagues that tried and failed to displace it e.g. the WHA in the 70s, or the 'Global Hockey League' which never even played a game.

And how many Pro leagues are in Ice Hockey (with some you'll never hear about before they are gone)? And how many have folded in the middle of the season (more than 1). It's all growing pains and you don't know how it will work til you try it. You join & hope for the best!

Well most of what's at the site is a month-old press release with this quote:

"In the United States , there is one league players turn to in order to consider them self’s professional inline hockey players."

I can't see them getting very far until they can afford Spellcheck.

They do mention a May 2011 playoff so there's definitely enough time to build interest. Or get teams.

Not to say that he can't do it, as I'm still a kid too but the league's main contact is still a kid. This is a video of him doing play-by-play on youtube lol.

The ARHA is the league that the 15 year old scorekeeper from the Bladium in Denver, CO has started......... he scorekeeps the PIHA games for the Blizzard part time. Take what you want from it.
    When in doubt....... just dangle!!

Who knows? Maybe he's the Steve Jobs of the hockey world. The kid's certainly into the sport.

Hey if anyone can do it, it's him.. and I'd be interested in getting involved if it's really gonna happen. But can you really compete with PIHA?

From what I'm hearing there may not be many teams returning to PIHA next year, could be a rumor or just wishful thinking, but my sources are pretty good and close to the situation so I have to think this is for real. It will be run by a major organization already in the sport.
