Closest inline hockey skates to ice hockey skates...

Sorry if this has been hashed and re-hashed... Im still a little confused and would like to know your opinions/comments.

I have Mission HE750s and Lieutenants. I like them both but they dont feel like the stock rocker that is on my Bauer hockey skates, which Id love to have. When the first and last wheels get worn, they will rocker a bit, but Im not sure if that is the idea...to keep worn wheels on them. Im not sure if the inline skates 'should' rocker like ice skates or not. I do understand the hi-lo wheel sizes are supposed to help turning, etc. I would love to have an inline skate feel like my ice skate so I can have a similar (or same) skate feel for both.

I know that inline and ice skates arent the same, but I was wondering what the closest feeling inline hockey skate to a Bauer ice hockey skates is.

You should check out the sprung chassis. They feel a lot more like ice skates than anything else on the market. I bought a pair last year as a fun side project and ended up absolutely loving them.

For lots (130 pages + worth) check out the modsquadhockey thread below. It has tons of info in it and you can usually get any questions you have answered pretty quickly. The guy that produces them is also fairly active in the thread and easy to get a hold of it you have questions for him directly.

So, the sprung chassis skates feel like the Bauer ice hockey skates rocker, even though the sprung are a flat chassis (from what I can gather)?

The Sprungs are head and shoulders above the old Tuuk Rocker chassis. The Rocker chassis was just a middle rocker arm on a pin, so it slammed back and forth freely. The Sprungs have two pairs of rocker arms with each set holding a urethane bushing between them, providing suspension.

I'm primarily an inline guy, so matching an ice blade wasn't key for me, and the Sprungs I got are my second choice of chassis. That being said, they are the closest, Joe Noris (former NHL'er, current Team USA inline coach) was Keith's first big prospect for the Sprungs and has said they are about a 70% match for ice. Like sdcopp said the sprungs are a dynamic chassis. They will "rocker" as you turn and put pressure on each wheel. They may not exactly match your ice skates, but they will be much better than anything else.

Also like sdcopp I am an inline first guy so matching the ice feel wasn't a priority, never-the-less they are still my favorite chassis just due the performance and feel they provide.

I sent Keith an email about purchasing the Sprung frames and mounting them up. Maybe he has a skate/frame package available...that would be great.

Anyone who has a pair of Sprung skates they are looking to sell let me know! My size relative to the skates i currently own... 9D Mission / 8.0 E Bauer size

I think he has a Torspo/Sprung package available but that is it. Not sure about sizes and pricing though. Also, not sure if he does this anymore but he used to do mount jobs if you sent him a set of boots. He would mount them any then ship them back.

If you are interested in mounting them yourself let me know. I did mine and they came out great. It really isn't too difficult, you just need to have some patience.
