Tour Carbon Goalie Skates

Does anyone have these?

If so, what is the opinion on them.

I need new skates but to make your own seems really expensive.

Decent Ice book = $300
Wheels = $100
Chassis = $150
Installation = $100

Thats $550.

The carbon is going for ~$300.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Everyone that has them, likes them a lot. But i love my bauer nike xg lite skates. They are only 189 at hockey giant, under the goalie skates. Half the price of the tours and probably more solid of a skate. These skates are just like your traditional goalie ice skates but with a inline tuuk frame. Also the cowling's on the Tour are much more thin compared to that of the bauer. Just putting my two cents in for a fellow goalie. Goodluck on your choice

I like the Bauer's as well. I came from a custom setup that had a predator chassis and I thought I would have a tough time with them but once I got the Rink Rat wheels on there and adjusted, I'm not sure I would go back. I like the lower profile of the Bauers. Its a shame they ship with those blue hypers because they are useless and wasted money.

I have the Carbon goalie skates and like them better than my last pair of Bauer Supremes. They were rough breaking in, but now I like them a lot. They have the Predator chassis so you have the choice to either go with 58mm or 47mm wheels(I think those are the general sizes).

I agree with ya Joe, those hyper wheels are absolutely horrible. So these skates go for $189 plus a nice set of rinkrat crossbar's $90-100, gives you practically the perfect inline goalie skate for around $300 and that's probably with shipping included.

Thanks guys. The main reason I am staying away from the bauer is that i dont like the 47mm wheels.

I am currently using a sure grip chassis (very similar to the predator) on a CCM ice skate. The skate has been great, but after 5 years, it fits more like a slipper then like a skate should.

Does anyone know what the sizing is like for the tours? I just got a new pair of RBK ice skates. From what I have hear the tour and RBK goalie skates size similar.

I wear a size 11 1/2 shoe with a 10 in my Tours. So it is generally about a size and half smaller than your shoe size.

well buy some bauer xg inline goalie skates

170$

buy some good goalie boots 150

and the installation shouldnt be more then 65$

so your looking at 380$

or buy the carbon which are kick ass and they do a great job

I have the goalie carbons and love them...a tad bit high but solved that I just don't lace up the top loops...tour skates run one full size smaller then shoe size.

Thanks for the advice. I got the skates and they just came in. Seems like a real solid boot. My only other question is, are these suppose to be baked? They seem a bit stiff out of the box.

I left the top lace open (and still do) to promote a bit of mobility. Other than that they wore fine right out of the box.

Baking voids the warranty on the boot and can ruin the cowling because roller goal skate cowlings are not made of the same material as ice goal skate cowlings and can warp under extreme heat- don't do it! Besides, all baking does is accelerate the break-in process; it doesn't magically make the boot fit perfectly to your foot, so just wear them a few times and you ought to be good to go...
