Hockey: The Official Sport of Minnesota?

Claiming to be the birthplace of American hockey, the Minnesota House passed a wide ranging K-12 education policy bill Thursday night that would make ice hockey the official state sport!

The bill still has some skating ahead to find this pond frozen solid.

Good, I always found it hard to believe that the North Stars left a state known for hockey, at least in my mind.

Tough call, but the NHL is shooting 50% (at least financially) on its recent relocations:

Minneapolis to Dallas: Good move, DFW really supports the team, and they're a perennial contender.

    Winnipeg to Phoenix: Bad all-around.

Hartford to Carolina: Good in a hockey sense, as they always have decent teams, but a poor financial move. Given the strong inline market in the Carolinas, you'd think they'd be a bit more successful?

Quebec to Colorado: Another success story. Good numbers and success on the ice.
