As sometimes we often overlook the NHL's team support of roller hockey's "Concrete Pond" - my description of the development program for future ice converts - I thought I would call to your attention an article appearing in today's Bakersfield (California) News that features a story about the ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for today at the new, indoor Roller Hockey facility at Saunders Park. The facility itself was donated by the Los Angeles Kings to the city of Bakersfield.
Although I am an Anaheim Ducks fan to the core, I say, "Thanks Kings!"
Talk about taking hockey to the grass roots level. This is awesome!
