    PIHA Finance Breakdown

Just for fun...I'm not criticizing or defending...

Let's assume the furthest-away teams make the conference finals and PIHA finals. (Boston, SC, Cincy, STL) Not that they will, but this is worst-case...

I got the # of rostered players, flight costs, hotel costs, and rental car costs for each team flying out of their respective airports. Looks like this...

    Conference Finals
    Flights: $21,300
    Hotels: $16,000
    Cars: $4,000

    PIHA Finals
    Flights: $13,020
    Hotels: $8,000
    Cars: $2,000

    Total costs: $64,320

    Total Revenue: $189,000
This puts PIHA in the 33% federal tax bracket

    Revenue After-Tax: $126,630

    Money left over: $62,310

I don't know what else PIHA pays for during the course of a season...but that's what I came up with.

I think $10,000 goes to prize money.

i heard boston never got prize money last season.. ?!?!

Division winners didnt get the money they were promised either..

and lets be honest.. cincinnatti isnt going anywhere.. and if the thunder make the finals, that saves the league thousands..

so we might want to wait to do the calculations til the finals are over

Boston received the prize money minus $1,000. The same for the Snipers. Correct me if I'm wrong Dave, plus other prize money was withheld to pay for the damage caused by four players during all-star weekend. I was told that, the cost to pay the hotel damage bill, "was not budgeted". So guess who paid for it, the players not involved. Never understood that one.

    Roger,

That is correct. I was never given an explanation that you were given of the hotel room situation. Ridiculous.

Also, don't forget the $25 player card things X all the players in the league - actual cost of that "program"

Our GM has had to pay for refs at our games.

    Re: PIHA Finance Breakdown

Last time I checked we all pay for everything. Even the teams who don't make the finals pay the prize and for the teams to travel. So whoever makes the finals just remember that every player and owner in this league paid for you to be there.

I'm gonna buy a PIHA franchise just for the potential entertainment value that this "owner's meeting" will provide.

You don't have to buy a franchise....You just have to be willing to give away money!
