Congrats to both Neumann and West Chester. Cool to see two teams of friends of mine go at it for the title.
Thank God Someone Was Nice Enough To Put Me On Their Team!

Congrats to Broward County CC on the Southeast First National Championship... Be nice to see them get some props since all they have done since their inception is lose 1 game (the national championship in 2007) at nationals...

Does anyone know why James Cash didn't play the national title game for UMSL? This is nothing against the other goalie, don't remember his name but I'm sure he's a great goalie. I was just under the impression, from hearing people talk about UMSL's win over Lindenwood at regionals, that Cash was a monster in that game with 40+ saves and it sounded like he might have had Lindenwood's number. Curious why he didn't get a shot to repeat that performance in the national title game, that's all.

Personally I'm not sure, but I do know that both Cash and Ames are tremendous goaltenders. While Cash was in net for the win against LU at regionals, he was also in net the day before, giving up 6 goals before getting pulled in an 11-2 loss. Obviously he was having a bad game, but both goaltenders are capable of beating Lindenwood.

That means the other goalie gave up 5 goals. Maybe the team just sucked in front of both goalies.

"It was his turn," was the answer I got from some of the players on UMSL. Eh, it shocked the hell out of us as well.

I heard the same thing that Ian did. That the goaltenders were on a rotation. Nothing more fair than that! Ames and Cash have both proved over the past several years that they are top-notch goaltenders.

I know there are some folks not too happy with that decision!

Saying that Cash AND Ames are both tremendous goaltenders is a false statement. Cash maybe tremendous, but Ames is clearly nowhere near his level.. id say decent to good, but tremendous is a stretch. I would not be a happy camper if i were an UMSL player.

It's because Ames' profile is superior to cash's profile

Last year Craig "Trendy" Brodmerkel and short hair-gel kid rotated for stony brook and that worked out pretty well for them.

never been called that before, but yes, last year me and brods ran on rotation and we did win d2...with a solid team in front, 2 goalies are capable of doing that
