NEW Skate Search??'s - Mission Wicked 7? Bauer Mega? Other?

Hi- I'm in the market for a new roller hockey skate. Although anything would be better than the skates I have now, I'm looking to research a good skate. If you have any RECOMMENDATIONS please let me know.

Also, I'm wondering if anyone owns (and can give me feedback) the Mission Wicked 7 - the Bauer Vapor XR lite or the Bauer Mega 40-70.

I am trying to find something in the 90 dollar price range (I might be able to spring an extra 20-40 dollars) and though I never tried them on I saw the Mission Wicked 7 was going for 99 bucks.

As for the Bauer Mega 40-70 and the Vapor XR lite- the Mega seemed to feel more comfortable than the more expensive Vapor though the wheels seemed to grip better on the Vapor- (I believe they were a soft 74a)

Again, I am open to any suggestions.

By the way, I am 155 lbs. about 5'11" with a narrow foot- if that matters.

get whicever skate fits you the best, and will last long enough to make it worthwhile buying, you can change the wheels to suit the surface easily enough, but you can't do much about a bad boot.

It's really a good idea to go to a decent skate shop that will measure your foot a few ways and try you out on many boots until you find one that really hugs your foot just right. There's nothing better than a great fit for both comfort and agility/performance when skating.

Boot is the most important, you can't change that later. You can always change wheels. Get something comfortable and that you think will protect you as well.

I don't know if we can answer that for you, but only give you a guide - it really depends on your foot. I think you're best off just trying on a bunch of different ones. I use Tour skates and like the boot, though I get a slight movement side-to-side so it's not completely snug. I don't believe they come in narrow either. Some people like Missions, some people like Bauer one 90's with a roller hockey chassis on them. Try out a few and see what feels right.
