Rocky Mountain Division Scores from Friday Night:
Minor:
Southwest Fire-4, Front Range Thunder-2
Southwest Fire-5, Front Range Thunder-3
PRO:
Lakewood Fire-3, Colorado Springs Thunder-2 (OT)
Lakewood Fire-2, Colorado Springs Thunder-6
Tour arena was packed! Standing room only. The Fire came to play, including Kyle Mikel (G), who played out of his mind the first game and should have been the first start of the night. He played unbelievable in net making rediculous save after save. The Fire were able to pull out the win in the first game in overtime (3-2) with Brian Roger's laser shot that capped a very intense first game. The second game was just as intense, if not more. Both sides took alot of penalties, and that lead to special teams play for the majority of that game. Thunder special teams prevailed and won 6-2.
The night ended with the results from a silent jersey auction to help raise money for the family of Riley Siver. It has become an annual event, and this year over $2,400 was raised for the "Go Green for Charity" event. The jerseys auctioned off looked great! Each jersey was worn by the players during the games that night for the charity event.....Good times![]()
