    Better goal: snipe or dangle

I know we all have seen our share of sick goals throughout our inline hockey lives. Personally I think a hard angle snipe is the best goal to score (and not just one of those throw it at the net and it accidentally goes in) in my opinion. Would you guys rather see a sick snipe for a goal or a dirty dangle and tuck for the goal?

    Hey GR8SK8r06,

    Excellent question.

However, since goaltenders are in a vast conspiracy to keep me off the scoreboard, I've rarely had the opportunity to score on a great snipe or a dangle. When watching games in person or on YouTube, though, I enjoy a great dangle a tiny bit better than a snipe. But anything that makes a goaltender look bad is OK by me.
    Sincerely,

Dangling is fun to watch, but I'd rather score a goal from a sick angle in a spot that no one thinks I can put the puck, especially if you get part of the post or crossbar. The clang (when the puck goes in) adds to the effect.

    My perfect scenario:

A sick dangle around the defenseman out in the very high slot, then an Ovechkin-like wrister top-shelf

Here's the best. Dangle the defenceman then roof it over the goalie on your way to the ice. Greg Pankewicz did it in Game 7 againsed the Blazers.

i personally enjoy watching the guy who "knows" he is going to score, if you get what i mean. while watching a dangle is sweet, i would rather see a guy "snipe" 5-hole. Very tough spot to score, my personal favorite to try for...

second favorite... low wrister through a D-man off the blockerside post.

Not highlight reels, but will score ya goals!

My favorite shot to take, whatever shot I have a chance to. My lack of speed rarly gives me a chance to dangle but if I do get lose, I have a heck of a wrister. Like growl89 said, blocker side post and in.

haha yeah i wish i weighed 165 again like when i was 16 and just wheeled around everyone... but i filled out haha ... yeah us lefty's are at an advantage, 5 hole and low blocker are easy targets. I don't skate around pretty much anyone, but i have no problem shooting

I think it depends what you're going for...
If you want a quick nail in the coffin and putting an exclimation point on a game, definitely a snipe.
If you want some drama and suspense, "How did he do that?!", then definitely an ill dangle.

I suppose then the best case scenario would be a high shortside snipe to put the game in overtime, then a dangle off the face to end game! That would definately be grounds for a few pitchers after the game........ Then leave it on Richard's tab!!

    Geez,

If you did that, I'd be washing dishes the rest of the night.

Richard!?! You have drawn a line my friend...the goaltenders of IHC (sounds like a Disney movie) will not forget this!

I've had to switch it up and work on going for most of my goals up high since I'd gotten too used to using 5 hole as my bread'n'butter scoring spot - a quick wrister about 4 inches off the ground.

I like both types of play though, personally i'm more likely to pull off the snipe shot than some massive dangle - so I appreciate the latter as something to learn a bit from.

Re: Better goal: snipe or dangle

As someone who can't dangle and never will, i have to say, the dangle needs the props over the snipe because not everyone can do it...My attempts are so futile that they sometimes work, this anomaly has actually been dubbed "The Bill Bourque Push" and in no way can be duplicated and is a copyrighted moved. The dangle is were its at, but a good snipe has to be appreciated as well.

In that case, this move should have a little bit of both:
Right handed shooter coming in one-on-one on the left-hand side, cut to the middle near the middle slot area, fake shot to freeze the defenseman/goalie, toe-drag through your own legs to your backhand, with a quick backhand shot in the top-left corner (preferably off of the corner post "clank and in"), and with the goalie on his ass
