    DII GPCIHL Bids?

With SIU-Carbondale beating us (Wash U) in OT this morning in a great game (heartbreaking for us to say the least), I think it is going to make nationals decisions tough. Missouri State, Truman, and SLU have locked in, in my opinion. SIU and Wash U are the only two other teams from the division that have the chance to receive bids for DII. Wash U beat SLU both times during the season, they tied MSU once (in addition to having to play MSU 3 times), they played Truman to a 1 goal game, and had to play a DI opponent in Middle Tennessee (a better team than most people think because they play DI and have a bad record). SIU beat Wash U 2 out of 3 including the playoffs, beat SLU once, but escaped playing any DI opponents.

Simple Question(s): If the GP gets 4 bids to nationals in DII, who do you think should go? What do you think the chances are that both SIU and Wash U get bids (5 bids for DII GPCIHL)?

It just seems extremely difficult to take one of these teams over the other. Both have put respectable seasons together and have their advantages in season/regionals play over the other. I guess if only 4 teams are selected, it comes down to the question of whether season play or regionals is more "important" to the selections committee.

That is actually something that your region will have control over. I am not sure how you guys rank your teams heading into the meeting, but the NCRHA would never be comparing Southern Illinois and Washington against each other. It is the GPCIHL that would have to chose which team is better. Some regions use regional finish to determine this, while other regions use a hybrid system that accounts for both regular season and regional performance.
