Tour boots & ankle comfort

I've always had trouble finding a comfortable boot and stumbled on Tour's TR 9000 around 1999 or 2000. I owned about 3 pairs of those, everything about the TR9000 was perfect. I'm getting back into hockey after a few years of minimal playing and I purchased the code 1's thinking I was getting the new version of the discontinued TR 9000's. I was very wrong, the code 1 boot hurts the hell out of my feet especially the inner ankles. I'm sending the code 1's back and getting a refund. However I still need new skates. Does anyone have any idea about the inner boot construction of Tour's available skates(not weight or material, talking about fit of the heel and ankles)? Anyone know of a skate that fits the way the TR9000 did? Anyone know where to find a pair of TR 9000's size 10.5 or 11. I swore by Tour b/c of the comfort of the boot. The code 1's have changed that, please tell me there other Tours that fit like the TR9000!!!

i have a pair of mutant Tour G60's from a few years ago (i'm guessing 2004). The reason I say mutant is because I got a hybrid pair that came with the Tour Redline chassis as opposed to the Aero-lite frame that the G60's were actually manufactured with. The boot, however, is the same. I find this boot to be very comfortable compared to most ( i switched to Tours after having a bad experience with Mission). I don't know anything about the TR9000. I do know that my G60's have a hi-lo setup and are not running the uniform wheel size of the hummer chassis on the Code 1's or Carbons made by Tour.

The code 1's are very highly regarded skate. However, if comfort is most important to you and you are willing to pay the kind of money for Tour Code 1's, why not check out a pair of the reebok pumps to see if that helps your comfort level. They can also be baked to mold to your foot. I've never tried them because i dont like spending $400 on skates. But its an option if comfort is your concern. I have also heard good things about the CCM vector series. It also depends on your foot, some brands are very narrow, while some are wider.

Ive tried on the Reebok 7k skates. They are very comfortable. If you can, go try them on somewhere. I work at a shop but we dont carry Tour skates so I cant comment on those. I also had a pair of the old CCM Vector PF8's. They were great. Try on the CCM skates too.

Fishbones. I've been skating in them for about 7 years now and unfortunately I am going to have to give them up. I don't think there is enough epoxy on the planet to save them. I'm thinking about the new Cobalt skate. A sales rep says that those are very similar in feel. But yeah, Fishbones.

Interesting, Fishbones are what I've skated for almost 6 years now. Alas, the chassis is just about ready to finally depart from the boot. The carbon footbed is so cracked there is no saving it. I'm worried about ditching the hi-low setup though (see my thread http://www.inlinehockeycentral.com/f...135&i=93665202 ). Was the Tour rep just talking about boot design/comfort or was he saying the Carbons skate more like older Tour skates with the Fishbones boots but hi-low chassis?
