    Game winning Goal?

Your the last chance for your team to win, what is your shot And why?.

Don't get all crazy and be realistic.

You have a defender on or near you, so a fancy shot is out of the question.

Sorry goalies, you have the perfect shot.......What is it?

THe perfect shot was taken in Saturday night's Marple - Long Island Game. Greg Thompson may have taken the best slap shot ive seen in a very long time. Well at least since St Cyr's one-timer at the 2003 NARCh Final.

I agree with you Flynn that was a great shot, not sure it would work on a breakaway though.

Oh, definitely put that low blocker, just over the pad, post and in!

Yokes... the question was if you had a defender near you, not on a breakaway. I agree with Alex, always blocker side, tougher for goalies to move that direction. By the way that thompson goal was blocker side, just right under the bar.

actually the Thompson goal in the Marple vs Long Island game from last night was glove side, I gave it up

12-16" off the floor, blocker side, off the post

One of the most difficult shots to stop when fired hard.

I agree with some of the other posts. I move from my left to right on the defenseman and shoot back to the far post about a foot off the ground.

I suck so I wouldn't score, but I'd try it.

I think I would go with a wrist shot, 5-hole. Opportunity for mistakes to go in and leave the chance for a rebound.
I had a Penalty Shot a few years ago in a tied championship game with about 6 minutes to go and I decided to go high glove and shot it over the net. I WOULD have gone 5-hole, but earlier that night in a shootout in the semi's and I went 5-hole and got stopped, so I didn't want to repeat the event, so instead I shoot the puck over the net and we end up losing the game. Oh well.

    Re: Game winning Goal?

There are so many answers, I would and know that a backhand shot high blocker would have a good chance of going in.

It tends to freeze a goalie, goalies do not see a backhand shot really.

Plus its a good way to protect the puck from the defender.

Here is my list of my shots

    1. Backhand
    2. 5 hole
    3. low side blocker
    4. high glove hand(oh yes I am challenging the goalie)
    5. surface shot blocker side
    6. And finally the good old Slapshot

    Re: Game winning Goal?

i would say that a perfect goal for me would be coming down one on one, pulling an inside out move to where i'm on the left side of goalie and the defender and shooting across the grain to the goalie's blocker and hitting both of the posts and just trickling in. i'm a right handed shot so it'd be across the body. so that way the defender thought he won by pushing me out, and the goalie thought that i missed by hitting the post. then when they look, they see the puck just barely trickling in. that'd be pretty sweet
